Quote of the week

by

in Language and languages

Shame on me. I’ve been so busy translating this week that I’ve not made the time to blog about it. But I’ve lots more material to work with now so stay tuned.

In the meantime, here’s an interestesting quote by Ludwig Wittgenstein:

“the limits of language mean the limits of my world”

… and in the spirit of demonstrating the link between theory and practice, here’s a link to a recent study which further proves that the language you speak affects the way see the world.

Follows on from the well-worn Eskimo snow stories :)
