Tris Hussey over at Pimp Your Work has announced that the smiley is 25 years old, and links to an interesting interview here with its “inventor”. It’s worth a read for a fascinating insight into the way written communication is developing in the age of the internet (whether we like it or not!).
Not so sure about his comment on the predicted demise of written communication, but then I’ve obviously got a vested interested
